Summary of Role:

Establish and manage effectively a cost control system in order to support the Project Manager’s decision-making process and allow him to complete the project within the approved Budget. Create a cost awareness atmosphere among all project participants.   • Plans, schedules, and supervises the overall design and engineering activities, either within or cross discipline.


  • Coordination of inter disciplinary checks, design reviews and HAZOPS or similar


  • Completion of conceptual scopes of work and preliminary designs.


  • Review and management of project and general specifications, engineering procedures and engineering policy.


  • Responsible for all work completed in his/her section


  • Prepares the documentation for all projects and ensures that it is properly archived.


  • Responsible for the training and development of engineers in his/her section


  • Prepare staff evaluations.



  • QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering


  • Registered Professional Engineer


  • 12 years discipline design experience with at least 8 years experience in engineering design of oil facilities, petrochemical, or oil and gas handling projects


  • Thorough knowledge of oil field engineering and construction methods including its practice and procedures.


  • Demonstrated experience in working on engineering teams on at least 3 projects of total value US$15MM each


  • Familiar with codes, standards, regulations and practices applicable to the design and construction of onshore and offshore structures/production facilities in the United States, including Civil / Structural API, AISC, AWS D1.1, CP110, CP 114 etc.

  • Contribute to process related activities, projects, studies, proposals, estimates and/or improvement programs.


  • Role and sensitivity of process operating pressures and temperature, steam analysis and properties.


  • Prepare and maintain process flow diagrams including heat and material balances.


  • Prepare and maintain process data, mechanical design conditions and specifications.


  • Prepare and maintain piping, instrument and hydrostatic test diagrams.


  • Responsible for project execution within budget and time schedules.

  • Execute all process calculations and simulations.


  • Prepare and maintain all safety, environmental and plant operation manuals.


  • Represent all processes related to commissioning, start-up and test runs.


  • QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering


  • 15 years experience, of which 10 years in oil field, petrochemical or oil and gas handling projects.


  • Thorough knowledge of practices and procedures of oil field engineering and construction methods.


  • Experience gained on a minimum of 3 projects with a value of + US$15 mm.
